Ducks

Last night Eric and I went for a walk to the duck pond (just south of BYU campus), where we witnessed a terrible thing... a sad female duck getting raped 5 times by 5 different male ducks. I was so appalled at those rogue males that I tried to chase them off of the poor girl duck, but they were horny as ever and didn't even care that I was throwing sticks at them. What a sad duck perspective last night brought to our innocent young eyes...

Running

Eric came to visit me at work yesterday. But instead of driving to Springville, where I work, 6 miles from our apt in Provo, he decided to run. Not a big deal, we do 6 miles and more regularly, but the road/freeway to my work is not something you usually run- or can run on.

Anyways, Eric was awesome and cute to visit me, but on the way back he died. The sun burning him drained his energy, he was running into the wind, and still being sore from the Rex Lee made the run back from my work less than enjoyable. So what do you do in Eric's case? You hitchhike home. And find that nice foreigners will pick you up.

Saturday/Monday Fun

Eric and I slept in on Monday and then went for a bike ride to Magleby's Fresh for delicious breakfast. Bottomless french toast and pancakes. We didn't, however, do justice to the fact that they were bottomless...thankfully.

We then went across the way and visited the Browstone art gallery. There were some neat paintings, and we especially enjoyed them because we've just recently taken up oil painting. We did not realize, however, that oil paint takes months to dry, and it gets everywhere and on everything.Last Friday night we painted two paintings, one for Ryan Openshaw and Mimi (Eric's mom) for their birthdays. We celebrated Saturday at a new restaurant in downtown Provo (at the bottom of Wells Fargo).Saturday, at 9am was also the Rex Lee run E and I have run for 3yrs in a row now. We did awesome. We ran the 10k with 8:21min miles and finished in under 52min. We ran with our friend Ruth. It was a lot of fun, but I ran so hard I was about to puke at the end. I held it in though, no worries.
We literally woke up 15min before this photo

We were trying to capture how cold it was with our breath...that you can't see
My friend Melanie and I- we were tennis partners in our tennis class at the Y

Eric loves his BJJ shirt that he designed and created for his club

Rockin' it outside of the MTC

Later on Saturday we went to look at Honda's. With new changes and new income coming in, we went to check out the Civics and CRVs and Fits and Hybrids. We'll see what actually happens in the end. We'll probably end up with a reasonable used car.
