This year for my Dad's and my annual daddy-daughter date, we went to see the Colorado Symphony play Vivaldi's Four Seasons with interludes from some of Bach's popular suites. My dad has a passion for music, which he has passed, to a degree, onto me. My dad is so talented that he used to practice the piano for 8hrs a day when he was in college. If you play any jazz song for my dad, he is able to tell you which musician is playing the oboe, saxophone, piano, etc. It's pretty amazing.
We had a great night (1/15/2011). The symphony had a guest conductor, Matthew Halls, who put on an extravagant show of conducting, along with Grammy-nominated violinist Jennifer Koh. I had been looking forward to this date for awhile, and it definitely did not let me down. My ears have never heard such a masterpiece in person before. It was breathtaking music. I'm so grateful we were able to go as it will be a memory I save (thank you hippocampus ;) for a long time.
I am grateful for my dad, he is my hero. I am grateful for talented people. I am grateful for music.
