The Cedars of Lebanon

Wow, I am bad at keeping up this blog. But I read blogs daily and am impressed that so many of you keep yours up with almost daily posts!

Last night, Jan. 31, 2009 was a great night. Eric and I dressed up and went to my friend Emily Crandall's (now Hales) wedding reception. It was fun to see the Crandalls in Utah because I grew up with them in Colorado, and slowly all their kids are coming to BYU.

After the reception Eric and I were hungry for some dinner so Eric suggested The Cedars of Lebanon. He remembered it being tasty from one of his mission companions' wedding dinner held there. Holy smokes, let me just say that this will be one of our regular restaurants. Not only was the food fantastic (although very pricy), but the ambiance was authentic Middle Eastern. There was also a group of folk dancers who danced the night away to live Middle Eastern music. I love cultured activities like these.

At the restaurant, there was an almost 91 year old lady dressed up and wearing high heels. She was shaking her hips and dancing with the folk group like she was 20. We asked her what her secret was to staying so youthful and healthy and her reply was, "I grew up in New England with a father who was ahead of his time. He never said a bad word about anyone, he was always so healthy, never eating junk food, and always so jovial. I like to live my life like his, I'm always seeking out the joys in life." Amen sister! She's my hero.

If any of you have the chance to go to The Cedars of Lebanon restaurant, do!It's well worth it. Oh yeah, and they also had a belly dancer shaking her exotic body to Moroccan music. It was indeed a wonderful night.
