February

Last weekend Eric had an interview at Rocky Vista University in Parker, CO. Since I'm from CO we made a mini trip out of it. Our trips out to CO are always so fun. I love spending time with my fam. Eric will most probably get accepted to the DO school in Parker, it's just a matter of time until he gets his acceptance call.
Our families are all so proud of him. I think my family loves Eric more than me, they can't stop talking about him. Eric is awesome and deserves the best and I'm happy for him that everyone is looking out for him and thinking of him.
The school in Parker is Eric's second choice, or I guess right now it's his first choice... so that means we're probably going to be living in CO after all! I'm happy about that. I haven't heard from the University of Colorado's pharmacy school yet, but I haven't gotten a rejection either. I'm not holding my breath though because CU is hard to get into.

One day when we were in CO I was playing the piano at my house and turned around to see this:
I love how buff Eric looks in this picture. And the fact that he's wearing a mask he just randomly found under the coffee table.

I also visited my high school friend Katie Curtin who just became a yoga teacher, graduated in journalism and works for a Boulder newspaper:

For Superbowl Sunday, we went over to our cousin's house to watch the disappointing game. We all wanted the Cardinals to win. It was fun though- I "taught" Andria how to knit (I didn't teach her very well and I bet she's already forgotten how) and baby Randy made some delicious twice baked spaghetti.

Here is the before picture of us getting ready for the game:

Valentines Day 2009:
I woke up at 3am (due to the lack of time during the week) and made Eric these 14 hearts:Here's the best part- on the back of the hearts I had little "gifts" written on each one. They went along the lines of:
  • You get a hug and kiss
  • You get a massage
  • You can have the last roll (the most delicious rolls in the world our friend Julie makes)
  • Let's watch a movie together
  • I'll play and sing to you a song on the piano
Basically I didn't spend a dime but it was still great.

Eric's V-Day present to me was to make me delicious crepes for breakfast. After a bit of experimenting and being frustrated with the batter that wasn't turning out, he finally figured out the secret to the batter and now we know for next time what is essential to crepe batter (even though we've made them countless times before).
He also gave me the cutest card and wrote the sweetest message in it.
He later took me out to dinner at Sam Hawk, our favorite Korean restaurant.
I love that we didn't spend any money (except for dinner) and had a blast. It was a great valentines day!

Oh, and to top it all off, after we were finished with our dinner and were getting in the car to go home, this guy outside the restaurant asks for a ride to his house. He lived near Ream's grocery store, so not far away at all. We said sure.
When he gets in the back seat of the car, he reeks of alcohol and cologne. He was also chomping down on pizza and listening to his iPod that we could hear from the front.
He starts to say that he has to turn down his music so he can talk to us. I told him he was fine and he said he didn't want to be disrespectful. But yet he was swearing more than he was using normal, respectful words. It was hilarious. He was telling Eric and I how he had just gotten out of jail 2 days ago and he was getting his life back together. He kept saying he was clean. He also decided to share with us that his daughters were topless dancers who had no respect for him. hmmmm. interesting.
He then asked us why we were waiting outside of Sam Hawk (the restaurant). I told him we weren't waiting, that we had been inside the restaurant and then got into our car when we were done eating. He then basically cut me off and said I didn't have to explain anything to him (with swears in between every word basically).
He then said he was "sorry miss" for his foul language and then not two seconds later continued on his warpath of swears.
He asked Eric and I if he sounded all right. But he had to ask it three times before we could even decipher what the heck he was slurring. Just picture a drunk drunk man slurring, "do I sound all right." Oh dear.
Eric was asking the drunk which street to turn on and he said, "turn left at this f#@*er." I think we just about burst out laughing then.
What topped it all off was when Eric said, "take care of yourself man" as a goodbye, and the drunk said, "I'm trying to a*# hole." I noticed that he had some pizza dangling from his butt when he walked away, and there were pizza bits and crumbs all over the back seat. Disgusting.
On the drive back home Eric and I just laughed and laughed at this unfortunate incident. The man was hilarious because he was so wasted, so full of swears and so pathetic. You don't run into that much in Provo, UT. Hopefully he straightens out somehow.
